The achievements of Maureen FitzSimons as a young performer in America (which we refer to as Maureen O'Hara today) would have definitely put her into the child-prodigy class. For a child with Irish heritage, and surrounded as her by talented parents, and her family did this naturally. Maureen moved into this loving home on the 17th of August 20 in Ranelagh. Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons was her mom. She was a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin company, and also owned shares in the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer club. Maureen was the third of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen was an athlete at heart and enjoyed playing tough athletic games. Furthermore she was gifted to act. It was evident that she was the winner of every Feis for drama and theater the Irish had to provide. By age 14 she was admitted to the prestigious Abbey Theater and pursued her goal of performing in classical theatre along with operatic music.
